Publish an Article

          We present you the general and specific requirements that all articles must follow in order to be submitted to this journal and acquire the right of peer review. All the information presented here in summary form can be found in its extensive version in Annex H of the Editorial Policies and Guidelines for Authors in force in this journal, which can be found here.

        Before reading the following guidelines for authors, we recommend that you review the topics, sections, and types of articles accepted in this journal; this information can be found here.

Requerimientos Generales

General Requirements

​​

  • Articles can be in Spanish or English.

  • The article must be original and unpublished, that is, it has not been published or is in the process of revision or publication in any other medium.

  • It is strictly forbidden to totally or partially copy articles already published in this journal or in other sources.

  • Articles can be written by an author; the maximum number of authors allowed is six. If your work has more than 6 authors, you must attach a letter describing the contributions that each person made to the work; The editors of Revista Cadena de Cerebros will indicate the authorships that do and do not proceed.

  • The writing must be sent in editable Microsoft Word format (.doc).

  • The font for all work should be Arial, size 12, 1.5 spacing, and 3x3cm margins.

  • All pages must be numbered (Arabic numbers: 1, 2, 3 ...) at the bottom center.

  • The title of the article must be in Spanish and English, and it must not exceed 25 words.

  • Do not use vulgarity.

  • Avoid including advertising of any product, brand, business, company, political party, events, etc., in your article.

Document Structure

  • First page:

    • Article title in Spanish and English highlighted in bold.

    • Authors should be placed in collaboration order with the following data:

      • Full name: paternal surname, maternal surname and name(s). The name(s) must be separated by a comma from the surnames, for example: Padilla Santamaría, Fernando; Ferman Cano, Floribel; Moreno Venegas, Luis Angel.

      • ORCID ID: If you are a researcher with previous publications and have an ORCID ID, please add it as a complete link. If you do not have an ORCID ID, you can register and purchase it for free at https://orcid.org/ if you wish.

      • Affiliation: Indicate the name of your study or work center, as well as the place and country where you are, according to the following format: area, department, headquarters, institution/company. State/federal entity, Country (examples: Pathological Anatomy, "Dr. Silvestre Frenk Freund" Pediatric Hospital, XXI Century National Medical Center, Mexican Institute of Social Security. Mexico City, Mexico. | Bachelor of Medicine, Department of Attention to Health, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Xochimilco.       • Academic degree.

      • E-mail.

      • Only the correspondence author should provide a postal address (it is suggested that it be the postal address of their affiliation).

      • The correspondence author must identify himself from the rest of the authors with a legend (Correspondence Author) or with an asterisk (*).

  • Second page or page to follow:

    • Summary in Spanish and English; it should not exceed 250 words (the notes and letters to the editor should not present a summary).

    • Maximum 5 keywords in Spanish and English. Use the collections of international descriptors (Descriptors in Health Sciences [DeCS] and SKOS UNESCO Thesaurus for Social Sciences). The notes and letters to the editor should not feature keyword.

  • Fourth page or page to follow:

    • Main body of the article.​

    • Acknowledgments (if applicable).

    • Funding (if applicable).

    • References at the end.

References

          References must be made in Vancouver style, so you must put Arabic numbers (1, 2, 3 ...) in superscript in the place that corresponds according to the reference and this should be at the end in order of appearance and not in alphabetical order; We recommend that you review articles already published in this journal so that you observe the correct form of referencing. Here are examples of common references:

Figuras y Tablas

Figures and Tables

A maximum of 5 figures are accepted with the following specifications:

  • They should preferably be original and unpublished, that is, they should not be taken from the internet or from material made by another author.

  • All figures must have captions.

  • Drawings, diagrams, maps, photographs and graphs are accepted.

  • Avoid images with explicit or grotesque content. In the event of attaching such an image to your work, the editorial team will assess its importance for publication. 

  • The images should be included at the end of the entire document, each one on a separate sheet together with their respective caption.

  • In case of citing the images in the text of the article, they should be named as “Figure + number in order of appearance”. For example: Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, etc.

  • The format must be .jpg and a minimum quality of 300 dpi.

A maximum of 5 tables are accepted per item. The characteristics of the tables must be as follows:

  • They should preferably be original and unpublished (not taken from the internet or from material made by another author)

  • They should be placed at the end of the entire document together with their titles and abbreviations or specifications (if any).

  • All must be in editable Microsoft Word format (none as image, Excel or PowerPoint format) each with a title and abbreviations or specifications (if any).

  • n case of citing the tables in the text of the article, they should be named as “Table + number in order of appearance”. For example: Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, etc.

          If you attach in your article any table or image that belongs to another author, please add in the shipment (as complementary files) the permissions for the use of said content issued by the corresponding authority. Specify the original source of each figure or table in your footer and declare in your collaboration letter that said material belongs to another author (specifying the full name of the author or authors, as well as the name and type of medium in which it was published) . On the other hand, if any or some of the images or tables are in the “public domain”, they must also be declared in your letter and in the figure / table footer to specify their source.
